Coastal Glass Distributors is a fabricator and distributor of architectural glass and aluminum products. We are a Guardian Select Sunguard fabricator, which requires us to temper substantial volumes of soft-coat low-e glass with excellent quality. After rebounding from the recession we saw our sales increase from 2009 through 2013, and it became obvious that we would need greater flexibility and capacity going forward, particularly for soft-coat products and heavy glass products. In November of 2013 we contracted with HHH Tempering Resources to upgrade our 1996 Tamglass radiant furnace. HHH upgraded our furnace with aspiration and additional control over quench dampening. The results were dramatic, we are now able to temper soft-coat products on our Tamglass with results as good as our full convection furnace. This has led to us being able to reset our tempering schedule and eliminate our third shift, which has helped us tremendously.
