One week, you might travel to the East Coast for an installation. The next week, you might travel to the West Coast to move and repair glass machinery. Responsibilities of Field Service Technicians

Your duties as a field service technician at HHH will include:

  • Complete machinery installation, preventative maintenance and repair at customer facilities.
  • Train customers on equipment’s technical, operational and maintenance requirements.
  • Document service activities and related expenses.
  • Provide VP of Operations periodic feedback on preventative maintenance programs and customer needs.
  • Attend tradeshows to set up and tear down equipment.
  • Work with fellow technicians to maintain the warehouse, machine shop and grounds.
  • Promote HHH Equipment machinery and accessories to customers.
  • Rebuild and repair glass machinery at HHH Equipment Resources’ facilities.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience and Skills

We’re looking for candidates with these qualifications:

  • Strong communication (oral and written), organizational and customer service skills are required.
  • Associates Degree in electrical or mechanical field or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Able to read wiring diagrams and pneumatic diagrams.
  • Experience servicing mechanical, electrical, electronic and CNC control devices preferred.
  • Experience as a traveling technician is a plus.
  • Competent with power tools (drills, grinders, reciprocating saws, etc.)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word and Excel).
  • Bilingual – English/Spanish a plus.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to work with a team.

Physical Demands for Technicians

To perform the functions of field service technician jobs, candidates should expect:

  • 75%-100% travel required.
  • Must be able to work occasional weekends and flexible enough to travel at a moment’s notice (usually with 24 hours’ notice) to customer facilities to complete equipment repair. Note that most travel is planned in advance, usually with a two-week notice or more.
  • Frequent standing, kneeling, reaching, bending, pushing, pulling and climbing required.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 90 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
